Is Mickey Arthur a successful coach?
Mickey Arthur is from South Africa. Prior to becoming head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, he was also involved in coaching the South Africa and Australia cricket teams. He was named head coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team on May 2016 and continued to perform his duties till mid-2019. In addition, he has been involved in coaching the PSL franchise Karachi Kings. During his coaching, the national team became the number one team in the world test and T20 but also the winner of the ICC Champions Trophy. There was a downfall in the team rankings. That is why Pakistan was able to retain its first position for a very short time. Talking about Pakistan's first position in T20, fortunately for Pakistan in those three years, the best players of T20 format have had the ability to play short format. It also had a hand in PSL, which sought new talent. Coaching at the big level is actually a motivating thing, otherwise, when a player comes into the national team he becomes a full player. More coaching is done for polish. For the length of time Mikey Arthur worked, the team did not show significant success in ODIs and continued to rotate around the sixth. Their successes are mostly visible in the UAE or success against weaker teams like the West Indies and Sri Lanka. However, if the team went to Australia, New Zealand or South Africa, the defeat would have been welcome. However, in the Test matches, the team still seemed to be resisting as experienced batsmen like Younes Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq were available. But the role of Mikey Arthur cannot be completely ignored. Therefore, it can be said that he was neither a successful coach nor a complete failure coach.
